Res Gestae

Sorry for the brief period of no posts. Been busy (e.g. busy sitting on the couch, busy fishing, busy playing Motherload, etc).

Anyhow, we went fishing on Monday 20 June in Bribie Island. We here meaning Peter, Dan, Jan, Svein and I. We went earlier than usual (8am) from Teneriffe and took us two hours to get there due to some *cough* detours *cough*.

As usual, we swore we were going to catch tons of fish(es) and ending up with jack all. Well, Peter got something we referred to as a “whiting within size limit”. No, it didn’t feed the whole gang.

One of the funny things worth mentioning is how Jan wanted to exact revenge upon this huge sandcrab he almost caught. Seriously, Jan almost owned the guy. The other thing is how we were drenched/soaked under the perpetual Queensland shower that day and nobody got sick afterwards.

Oh ya, I also bought a new reel on the island. A Shimano Slade 4000FB. One nice little baby it is! Smooth as silk sliding on a Teflon pan with lots of oil. Don’t know how much it is worth normally but I got it for 70 bucks. Ironically, no fish for me that day.

Oh well, next time we go to Bribie Island again, we *cough* will *cough* catch something. Something impressive.
